File of Life Program

In September 2000, Assistance League Greeley started the File of Life philanthropic program. The File of Life program provides a free large red magnet packet for the refrigerator, as well as a small red packet for the wallet or purse. These packets are distributed throughout the community of Weld County at Channel 9 Health Fairs, senior groups, the clients at the Bargain Box Thrift Store, and numerous other venues.

The files are filled out by individuals in pencil so that changes and additions can be made. The files contain the individual's important medical information for emergency purposes. These File of Life packets contain information about the individual's health problems, emergency medical contacts, medications, allergies, and additional information.

During the 2016-17 fiscal year, 2,825 files were distributed through a budget of $2,540.
